Church Leadership

We believe strongly in the Reformed theological principle of the priesthood of all believers.  That means that everyone who is confessing Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior has been given gifts by the Holy Spirit and an appointment by God to do a form of ministry.  This doesn't mean everyone needs to have a job with the church, rather it means that we are each called by God to bless His name by loving one another just as Christ loved us by serving one another.

In the Presbyterian way of doing church, the Session is a kind of spiritual board of directors.  The Session is responsible for the whole life of the church: from spiritual care to making sure the roof stays on the sanctuary.  Our Session consists of twelve members of the church elected by the congregation and ordained as Ruling Elders for this ministry.  Pastor Dave serves as moderator of the Session.  Please be in prayer for our Session as they seek to provide for the well-being of our whole church community.

The Board of Deacons provide for the spiritual care of church members and non-members primarily through home visits, prayer, and meeting basic needs.  Deacons are also members of the church who are elected by the congregation and ordained as Deacons for this ministry.

meet pastor dawn

I am a native of Manasquan, New Jersey and fondly remember my bike to the beach in the summer and playing in the surf. My love of water and the outdoors keeps me and my family active.

I can be found at the soccer field kicking it around with the boys [Clayton (15) and Sullivan (12)] or at the pool swimming laps. I am a self-taught guitar player. Music and prayer ground my faith. My sense of humor and joy-filled spirit will hopefully bring a smile to everyone I meet.

I like to cook but do not really care for the cleaning up part. I prefer a kindle to a book and watch one series at a time. Currently, I am watching "Madam, Secretary." My family and I enjoy the flavors of Thai and Indian food and encourage the boys to try new things.

I believe worship is where we go to be recharged, challenged and made ready for the week ahead. "Coming to worship as active participants, we praise God and seek God's direction as we go out to the world in active service sharing God's saving love with others."

Meet Jake Kirk

My full time job is for Young Life, particularly Young Life of Genesee County where I do outreach ministry in Fenton, Lake Fenton, and Linden High Schools. Our youth group is on Sunday nights and we partner with Young Life providing weekly clubs, campaigners, and camping twice a year for our middle and high school kids. I coach basketball and baseball at Lake Fenton, and love movies. Come stop by on Sunday nights in the school year or check out what Young Life has to offer in your community.  www.genco.younglife.org

Meet Melissa Dugan

Hello! My name is Melissa Dugan and I am the office administrator here at Linden Presbyterian Church. My husband, Johnathan, and I became members shortly after we were married here in 2001 and have been blessed all these years to be a part of this wonderful church family. I've been working in the church office since May of 2015 and absolutely love my job!

We have two daughters, Morgan and Christina, and they keep us very busy! Both of our girls are super star students, decorated Girl Scouts, and heavily involved in dance. Morgan plays piano and enjoys singing and art. Christina plays the piano and the violin and also loves to sing.

Johnathan and I have been worship leaders at LPC since we started back in 2001. We have thoroughly enjoyed our ministry as worship leaders and look forward to continuing to provide worship music for our contemporary service for many years to come. I have also served as an elder on our session, a co-leader on the Pastoral Nominating Committee of 2011 and have been involved in countless projects, events, and activities here at LPC. I enjoy being a part of our FISH Team and love participating in our church.

It is my pleasure and honor to be among the staff here at LPC.
